Child & Adolescent Counseling
From social stress, transition and divorce, bullying and trauma, children and adolescents are under more pressure now than ever before. Young people often struggle with self-image and self-esteem issues, anxiety, depression, eating disorders and substance abuse issues. School stressors may include excessive or difficult homework, test anxiety, peer pressure and learning difficulties.
The goal of adolescent counseling is to alleviate symptoms of distress; improve the child’s social and emotional resources; increase their use of effective communication skills; and strengthen family, community and peer relationships.
